SACS has received information that some specimen anglers are moving fish unauthorized from some venues to another. SACS was requested by the owner to manage Kwaggahoek Dam on his behalf due to rumors doing the rounds that the same was happening at this pristine venue with its monster carp. At this point in time we have curbed this from happening again due to various actions and incentives put in place with assistance of the staff at the lake.
Many big carp above 19kg (40lb) have been caught the past winter and autumn. SACS Management will further meet with lawyers and advocates whom are members of SACS and we will discuss the path forward with regard to this issue at other lakes also.
SACS furthermore was informed that some anglers just pitch up at the lake and even want to bribe the staff to fish at the venue. All bookings has to go through SACS and the staff were requested to ensure that anglers pitching up at the lake has made proper bookings before being allowed entrance to the lake / facilities. Therefore the practice by guests to just arrive at the dam to fish has been stopped with immediate effect.
SACS het inligting gekry dat sogenaamde spesiehengelaars onregmatig Groot Karp uit Kwaggahoekdam verwyder en na ‘n ander dam verskuif. SACS het Kwaggahoekdam deels oorgeneem omdat die eienaars vermoed het dat groot Karp deur sogenaamde hengelaars onregmatig van die perseel verwyder word en dus gesteel word! Gelukkig is daar nog baie groter vis tans die afgelope winter en lente gevang deur hengelaars wat kan hengel. SACS se bestuur en lede sal Maandag koppe bymekaar sit en die pad vorentoe uitstippel. SACS het prokureurs en advokate as lede en ons gaan hul hulp inroep om teen die skuldiges op te tree aangesien hul nou aan ons bekend is en daar behoorlike bewyse aan SACS verskaf is. Die staf by die dam het ook opdrag gekry om op die uitkyk te wees vir dit en ons bied selfs behoorlike finansiële bystand aan die staf wat derduisende rande beloop as hul verdere voorvalle gaan identifiseer. So hul is op hete kole om iemand te vang! Hengelaars daag glo net by die dam op sonder om by SACS te bespreek en wil dan hengel. Dit word onmiddelik gestop om verdere voorvalle te voorkom.
