Member & Organization News –
First of all I would like to give our Heavenly Father all the glory for the rain that fell during the past few months that assisted in the gripping drought being relieved and dams being filled with water again. This also had an impact on SACS as Misty Lakes that almost ran dry are now full again.
Many things are currently happening at SACS and I wish to provide feedback in this regard:
Local SACS Suppliers has been negotiated: MCT Baits, Jackel, Western Accessories Fishing Tackle (WAFT), Camp Cover
Partnering shops: Western Accessories (Gauteng) and Purple Carp (Bloemfontein)
(Kindly contact me if you would like to partner or advertise with SACS on our website at a small fee of R840 per year.)
Internationally SACS already has a partnership established with Korda who is also now moving away from one sole supplier in all countries and SACS will be able to import tackle directly in near future through a bulk order.
SACS will also expand its online shop with a partner company known as Bundu World to incorporate products of SACS suppliers to be sold at discount to SACS subscribers.
New venues added to the SACS website: Gasteplaas (Carp of 16kg and more to be expected)
Access to a new Specimen venue near Witbank is currently being negotiated with the owner. Fish up to 16kg has been landed in the past on conventional angling. SACS will also assist the owner with fish management at the venue. The venue to be announced on the SACS website.
SACS is busy to establish a SACS-only venue in the Western Cape and it will be stocked legally through fish rescue operations from drying farm dams and where owners of irrigation dams are removing carp that impairs the water quality used for irrigation.
Venue Reports –
SACS members have again achieved many beautiful catches at Kwaggahoek dam although the fish has spawned. Anthony Tomsett has landed an immaculate Mirror Carp of 16.9kg among structure many have neglected to fish in the past. A lady, Juritza Kruger, has landed a Common Carp of just more than 40lb. Nice to see the ladies enjoying big carp angling also!
Swims 1-3 is open at Misty Lakes and bookings can be made. I wish to kindly request SACS subscribers to support this venue as it has splendid facilities for the wife and kids especially.
